Stone has a "feel' that's very unique---I look for imperfections, as stone isn't usually perfect. AND, I can tell when it tap it against my teeth. Sounds crazy, but stone is dense and feels solid on the tooth. Hope that helps!!

s so much fake turquoise out there... Even the real stuff, with matrix, is oftentimes reconstructed from craprock that's glued and pressed into a solid piece and then used. Generally speaking, in a ring like this, that's probably silvertone, the stone probably IS NOT. Just my opinion, though, I may be completely out of line with respect to this particular ring...I write in reference to Non-Authentic Native American 'style' jewelry in general!
