We have turtles too...nasty little buggers lol this filter would be of no use to me but I do recommend Rena canister filters. Getting one that filters 2-3 times your aquarium size will keep up with the load of turtles. We have two (XP3 and XP4) on our 150 gallon turtle tank with five turtles and a catfish and our water is crystal clear and rarely do we see poop :) oh, and the more water the easier to maintain ;)

Nice, i only have a 20 gallon right now. Does the cat fish help keep the tank clean? And how big are your turtles and catfish?
