The listing, Mint Collectible Adobe Photoshop 5.5 - Used in Box - Manuals Still Sealed - Free US Shipping has ended.

I bought this in a bundle with CS 1 Standard, so I don't need it. Free US shipping. This comes in the original box with the manuals still sealed in cellophane. The CD's for Windows and Mac are pristine.

If you collect software, this might be a good one to have. If you are aiming to do an upgrade climb, I think you can upgrade to at least CS2 with this version. My understanding is you don't need to upgrade with a previous version installed on your machine, you just need a serial number that is not registered currently.

Note I would not try to install this on XP. It might work but you might be disappointed. I really don't know. The software was made in 1999 and it says up to NT on the side...

Is the serial number on the box unregistered?

Not sure, but the software is not installed anywhere. I think the serial number can be used to upgrade to CS2. You install CS2 upgrade and it will ask for a serial number, just put in the one from this software.

No, you would have to buy that separately. This item is worth about $35 on eBay. CS2 upgrade is worth more, maybe close to $100.

You should be able to upgrade from 5.5 to CS1 if you win that other lot. Without installing this present lot, just use the serial number during the installation of CS1.

Considering the fact that it is sealed, its also highly collectible.
