1960's paperweight from the four-corners area - black and gold

Lucite encasing 6 small and 1 larger chunks of fool's gold (surely it can't be real gold!). Base of the piece measures approximately 2-3/4 inches across - top is about 1-3/4 across; 8-1/2 inches around the base. A little over 1-1/2 inches tall. Black felt bottom.

Top has a gold "X" sectioning with each section labeled with a state: Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona and Utah. All markings are embedded, nothing that can scratch off.

Excellent condition - very few scratches are visible to the naked eye. I was surprised that close up photography showed any at all (please see pictures). Side view shows some lint from cleaning - no matter how hard I tried, I could not get it all off to the camera's satisfaction.
