Alright, so I wanted to try something completely different with this auction; let me explain:

My family and I have been playing Magic the Gathering for only about 2 years now, and usually end up placing somewhere from the middle down in local weekend tourneys. Personally, I want to place a little higher, so I am asking my fellow MTG Listians to give me some tips on how to achieve this – especially when it comes to those cool card combos!

You will be rewarded not only by knowing that you’ve helped me and other newbies enjoy the game more, but also with goodies such as even more stacks of commons and uncommons, Rares, Foils, Sleeves, Boxes, and other things depending on how high this one will go. You will not be disappointed … I am stuffing a Flat Rate, padded, envelope and willing to add $1 Amazon Gift Codes at my discretion, should I run out items or room.

<< The rules are simple >>
1. Anyone can bid of course without sharing a combo!
2. Keep it clean and respectful!
3. Share a combo tip with everyone by putting it in the comment section … You can post as many as you want, but in the case of duplicates, the first post will be the only one to be considered.
4. Combos MUST be standard tourney legal
5. If it is truly a viable combo, I will add a reward, then put your name into a hat for a random drawing at the end. So even if you do not win the auction, you have a chance to get something for your valiant efforts! … Duplicate rule applies.
6. I will also add bonuses for certain amounts of credits or when the mood strikes me as I have done in past auctions :)

I added a picture to proof that I have plenty of cards and to show you what types you will get. Yes, there are some basic lands included, but you will get no more than 140 total.

I know what you were asking for is current combos but this all time fav. of combo of mine that is usable in commander is Avacyn, Angel of Hope and worldslayer. Avacyn is Indestructible and makes all your stuff Indestructible. while worldslayer destroys everything everybody has in play except worldslayer, meaning its a complete board wipe for everyone but you.

Also, as to the previous "hidden stings" idea, creatures with inspired and heroic would go great with it. On another note- Satyr Firedancer, Young Pyromancer and Guttersnipe are great cards, especially when they're all out at once. Throw in a Purphoros, God of the Forge and there's a great deck idea, just put a bunch of burn cards.

Standard Combos: Hidden Strings, Contaminated Ground, dismiss into dream (expensive, but if you can pull it out it works well) Phantom Warrior, Deathcult Rogue- basically, use contaminated ground, then hidden strings to tap and do damage- cipher onto phantom warrior or deathcult rogue (P.W. = unblockable, D.R. blocked only by rogues and easier to play) - swing, then tap/untap for more damage. with dismiss into dream, you have added insurance against creatures.
or you could do blue-white, using hidden strings and phalanx leader and other creatures with heroic.

I like the Contaminated Ground and Hidden Strings tapping it, dealing 2 damage and making it unusable for the time being … Dismiss into Dream is expensive, but again definitely useful with Hidden Strings, since it would be an ability :) …. I like it!

Here's one more for now. It's not an infinite loop, but it's pretty good for it's simplicity. Assemble the Legion + Puphuros, God of the Forge.

Get Them both out and each upkeep you'll be doing 2 damage for each soldier Assemble the Legion pops out.

Archangel of Thune + Fathom Mage + Horizon Chimera.
Attack with Thune to gain life and to put a +1/+1 counter on all your creatures. Fathom will let you draw a card from the +1/+1 counter, and Horizon will let you gain a life from drawing. Then it's back to Thune, then Fathom, etc...
OR you could get Fathom Mage to evolve, draw a card, gain a life from Horizon, gain a +1/+1 for all, back to Fathom, etc...

Infinite Aurelia Combo (Aurelia the Warleader + Fellhide Spiritbinder).

Get them both on the field. Attack with both. Aurelia's ability will let you untap all your creatures and get a second combat phase for her first attack. Fellhide's ability will activate and lets you make a copy a creature (Aurelia) and give it haste. Copy Aurelia. Attack for the second time. The new Aurelia will let you get another combat phase, since it's the new one's first attack.
Then you do the process again. You can only have 1 Aurelia since she's legendary. The copies will die at the end of the turn.

Ok so, she can only untap others at the first attack of each turn ... so if you have a copy in the second combat phase, the original dies of course, and this is then considered the copy's first attack during that turn? ... if that is the case, this is an infinite combo!

Infinate Aurelia is actually limited because fellhide's ability costs 2 mana to use.
For the Thune combo, i think there's another enchantment card that lets you get +1/+1 counters when you gain life, but i don't think it's standard.

Here is a good one for you it uses Sanguine Bond and Congregate Play Sanguine Bond then If there are 10 or more Creatures on the field play Congregate your opponent loses the game(suggesting they are at 20 life)

One of my fav combos can be used in something with white, both enchantments, i have won many games with them.. :worship + near-death experience:, (near-death exp, if you control atleast one creature, any damage that would put you below 1 life, puts you at 1 life onstead) worship (at the beginning of your upkeep, if you have exactly one life, you win the game), its dirty but get either an indestructible or shroud creature

Another is for a blue white green, emperyial archangel + vigor, archangel (flying shroud, any damage done to you is done to her instead), vigor (any damage to creature, prevent it, put a +1/+1 on for each damage prevented), won a few games that way

Voice of resurgence; Brimaz, king of Oreskos- brimaz gets you crazy tokens, voice of resurgence gets you crazy huge tokens/stops people from playing spells during your turn. Giant Adephage is cool for that, too. Devout invocation could do well too, with enough mana/creatures out. Elspeth, Sun's Champion would be ideal as well. Murder Investigation, too.Precinct captain is nice w this. Primeval Bounty kicks ass, though it is expensive. aaand worldspine worm is decent, but costs a lot to play. but yeah, use a combo of those cards and some other cheap things that pump up tokens and you should be good. Also, Adjani's Chosen would be good in a deck full of bestow creatures

Here's a classic modern combo. Path to Exile or Ghost Quarter + Archive Trap.
Archive Trap make you opponent mill 13 cards, but it's a 5 drop. If you're opponent willingly searches their library Archive Trap costs 0 to cast.
Use Path to Exile to exile a creature or Ghost Quarter to destroy a nonbasic land. Then your opponent MAY search their library for a basic land. Use all the archive traps you have in your hand to make him mill 13 each. If you had all 4 in your hand that's 52 cards.

Elite Arcanist copies the exiled spell and casts the copy. So the original spell is still in exile and can be used again so long as Alite Arcanist has not left the field.

Whip of Erebos and Obzedat, Ghost Council work pretty well. throw in archangel of thune for a sweet combo. Elite Arcanist goes well in just about any blue deck, and would be great for a mill deck, along with illusionist's bracers.

I found this loop and I'm making a deck around it. Elite Arcanist + Triton Tactics + Zurr-Tae Druid = Infinite Ping

Make sure you summon Zurr-Tae Druid before or in the same turn you summon Elite Arcanist, or you'll have to wait a turn because of summoning sickness.
Make sure Triton Tactics is in your hand BRFORE you summon Elite Arcanist.

Summon Elite Arcanist, exile Triton Tactics and then wait a turn (or give him haste). Tap Druid to get 1 green mana and deal 1 damage to opponent. Use that to pay the X (which is 1) in Arcanist's ability. Cast Triton Tactics and use it to untap them both. Repeat this process until you win.

I'm not seeing how this is infinite, because Trition Tactics will be gone at the end of the turn since it resolves, right? Grant it Elite Arcanist and the Druid will be untapped, but the Arcanist can only exile a card from your hand plus only when he comes into play ... or am I missing something? :)

For modern intruders alarm+ march of the machines + summoning station infinity creatures add the other stations for more destruction

Blade splicer+ shape anew will look for any artifac in your deck just make sure to put only one best option is a blightsteel colossus turn5 game ender

Well, it is getting down to the last 13 hours and I will keep a close eye on the posts tomorrow afternoon until it ends … I will also have the hubby draw the winner of the extra drawing after he gets home from work and email him/her on Sunday at the latest with a choice of the prize.

Ok, so I'll start with a combo I found online that has worked out really well for me:

Boros Reckoner – Life and Death Combo (Gatecrash on up)

* Enchant Boros Reckoner with Gift of Orzhova to gain Lifelink and Flying
* Play Boros Charm (instant) to make Boros Reckoner Indestructible
* Then play one or more instants or sorceries to deal damage to Boros Reckoner
* Results in you gaining Life, a powerful flyer, and dealing extra damage to the opponent before actually attacking

I've even went so far as to put indestructibility and any ordeal card on him on top of that to make him even more deadly :)

Casey- Shrivel or even a Liturgy of Blood/Asphyxiate/Doomblade combo can kill any of those tokens, and those tokens are still a 1/1

Actually, theres a way with that set of cards to win any game.
If i win ill reveal more secrets, but

If you put a Boros Charm or Gift of Immortality on Boros Reckoner, give him indestructibility with it, then you can cast a direct damage spell like Shock on him, you gain 2 life and get to choose new damage cause he was hurt. Then just put it on him again, gain 2, put the damage ability on him, gain 2, and repeat for infinite life.
Its been used in tournaments, cheap perhaps but EFFECTIVE.

That would work too, but not as well. Gift of Immortality does not make him indestructable - true, he doesn't go to the graveyard and comes back, but he is still prone to be killed, etc. until the end step, when Gift of Immortality gets re-attached. Plus, when Boros "dies" all enchantments go to the graveyard ... but yes, I have used several small spells like Shock in a row to do much damage

Another cool combo is to use an Aqueous Form on a card like Nightveil Specter or a Medamai the Ageless to make them unblockable, and use their abilities to play your opponents cards or take extra turns. For even MORE power, if you have an Artisan of forms you can cast a spell on it and have it duplicate that card

We use Aqueous Form in a few of our decks and love it especially with Medamai the Ageless ... in 2 Headed Giant, it goes great on that amped up, flying, Boros Reckoner, LOL

in modern tourneys on the last Friday of every month, I have some good combos. Exquisite Blood and Sanguine Bond- then either damage opponent OR gain liofe, and you win (loop there). Or in a mill deck- Mindcrank and Duskmantle Guildmage. Mill or do damage, and there is a win loop. dark rituals would go in either deck, of course.(I know you asked for standard, but these combos are sweet.)

A fun combo is with Medomai, Boros Charm, and Aurelia. Basically, swing with Medomai and Aurelia. Then give Medomai double strike with Boros charm so then you deal damage with it 4 times (16 damage) and then you take four more turns! :^)

Wow that is a very evil combo, I love it!!! ... but after much thought and breaking it down, you don't actually deal 16 damage with him, since he will be tapped after the first combat phase and Aurelia can only untap creatures when she attacks for the first time each TURN not phase (of course you can always play a card to untap him) ... so, here is the way I see it:

Turn 1
Medomai already out preferably with Aqueous Form – Boros Charm him to give double strike (the phase gets a second combat damage step)
Bring out Aurelia preferably with Aqueous Form – and attack
If all damage goes through, there is 11 damage (8 Medomai; 3 Aurelia)
Aurelia give another combat phase and will do another 3 damage
Medomai gives 2 extra turns because of the double strike (1 extra without double strike)
Total of possible 14 damage

If you can untap him during the second combat phase, he would do another 8 since double strike lasts until the end of the turn AND gets 2 more turns – for a total of 4
Total of possible 22 damage

Turn 2 & 3 (extra #1 & 2) ... and possible Turns 4 & 5 if you can untap him in Turn 1
Medomai cannot attack, so Aurelia attacks and deals 3 damage
Gets another combat phase deals 3 more damage

Possible total of 12 - 24 more damage
