Description

The listing, "Old Time Favorite" Garden Huckleberry has ended.

***Pioneer Plant***
In one season this Old Heirloom variety will grow into a large bush filled with good sized berries. They turn dark bluish purple when ripe and resemble a very large blueberry. These plump berries get sweeter after a frost. These berries were a favorite for making pies and jams in the Pioneer days. Makes a great decorative plant also.
Unlike many of the other seeds I offer, I did not produce these seeds in my garden, I bought way too many packs for the space I ended up with after planning my upcoming garden. They are an old Heirloom Variety and are not GMO. As always I will include seed starting instructions.
This listing is for 25 or more Garden Huckleberry seeds.
I will only ship to a verified address. Address must be supplied within 7 days per Listia Rules.
I will ship the seeds out USPS within 48 hours of receiving the winners address.
If you don’t give an address within 7 days I will keep your points.
No refunds.

You're very welcome!!! The taste all depends on when you pick them, they are related to the ground cherry and are part of the tomato family, so once they have turned purple but are stll not completely ripe they have kind of a berry mixed with tomato taste. As they ripen fully they lose the tomato flavor. They are not real sweet until after a frost and I find that they are much better in pies and mixed fruit jams and preserves than right off the plant, but that's just my personal preference. They have a unique flavor that is really hard to describe. I hope you enjoy them!!! They will grow into a large bush like plant fairly quick an look pretty good in any landscape once covered with berries and little flowers in Mid-Summer.
