Excellent questions! I am not sure if these are Tahitian or dyed. How might I check into that for you? This is my first time listing a pearl necklace. I do know that all the pearls are differently shaped, not perfectly round, as you can see in the pictures. One of the pearls measures 6mm across. And I am not sure of the chain material
It's gorgeous. If you get a chance, you should take it to the pawn shop to see if they are dyed. If they are natural color, they're worth a lot more because only tahitian pearls are naturally "peacock" black (multi color undertones) and if you add that to description, you'll get higher bids.
Is the chain metallic or more like "thread"? Good luck and thanks for being honest and open to questions :)
I just noticed that you said they are antique. Do you know anything about their origin? Like, were they inherited to someone or found treasure hunting at the thrift store, etc
I think that information can also increase its value.
