A little info on Selenite Roses:

Some minerals form rosette shapes, and selenite is one of these. The selenite rose rock is also called "the desert rose", and is often confused with the barite rose. The edges of selenite rose are sharper and the crystalline structure is less hard than the barite rose.

Some desert rose metaphysical properties are:

Mental clarity
Increase awareness of self and environment
Allows one to see inner truth
Promotes success in business
Assists in accessing past lives

Selenite is named for Selene, Greek goddess of the Moon because of its moon-like glow. Exchanged between lovers, it will bring about reconciliation.

Brings mental clarity
Helps one to access angelic guidance
Quickly unblocks stagnant energy
Instills a deep peace

It makes a wonderful protection stone. Place a selenite sphere at the corners of your home to create a peaceful, safe environment that will not be disturbed by outside influences.

What's the provenance of the stones?

Well since these are not ancient stones(that I am claiming belonged to someone that would make them more valuable) and I am not selling them as such then provenance does not apply. Just as if you bought some tumbled Rose Quartz then you wouldn't as for a provenance. In all my years of dealing with gems and minerals I have never actually been asked for a provenance of a stone. I have been asked for them for pieces of art and provided them as appropriate. If you would like to know where Desert Roses or Selenite Roses come from Sahara Middle East Region, Southwest USA, Mexico, and they can also be found in parts of Oklahoma. These came out of Nevada. I hope I answered your question thoroughly enough for you however if you still need more info please feel free to ask. Just when it comes to the "Provenance of the stones" I am selling you stones that came from mines to me and now to you so provenance does not apply and unless I am terribly mistaken in this grade of stone it only applies to ones that have been considered art owned by someone who was well known, historically significant, or of course famous. I don't deal in that price range. ~Namaste~

Oh you misunderstand, I just want to know info about where they come from, the type of rocks, that sort of thing.

I'm a rock collector and these are neat items that I'd like to add to my collection.

If I win then, I can send you the blank Provenance form I used to label and record info on my own collection.

Any information you don't know, you can leave blank, as well as info you don't want to divulge.

:) Hope that clears up any misunderatandings.

Okay...it is a very soft Gypsum with a MOH's of 2. (So literally a fingernail can scratch it) and sand. So these "rosettes" happen when this very soft Gypsum is hit by rain and sand. So most every piece of Selenite Rose is made of of Gypsum and sand from the region in which it is found so in this case Arizona. I would be very interested in seeing what you use as a Provenance. I do apologize for not understanding. I am very focused on the metaphysical and the electric conductivity of each gem that I don't pay a lot attention other than knowing for example Malachite is poisonous if you try to grind it with out proper ventilation. I am very jewelry and healing oriented when it comes to the stones. However I can use Mindat.org I never have any info I don't want to divulge as I spent a fortune making it my practice flying to and visiting the working conditions of the mines that I was going to buy from. So that I am assured that I wasn't taking advantage of anyone by supporting a mine that has sub human working standards. Anyway I wasn't mad or anything just a little frustrated because usually when people as questions like that they are trying to embarrass a seller. Those who know me know I am very passionate about gems and minerals for their metaphysical properties. I understand completely now. While we advertised as a Metaphysical Multifaith Shop I did have a large number of my "rock hound" club who were collectors who came in one a week to see if I had anything new. So hopefully I answered your questions better this time. Have a Wonderful Week.

Quick question. Do ship via USPS or some other shipper?

USPS with Tracking. They weight more than the base three ounces for a package and then they come so bubble wrapped that the package will more than likely be bigger than your box so most people have to go to the post office to pick them up. But I don't trust the USPS to treat the packages well so I pack them to be mail man proof. Also depends on if it is the 5 or the 10. I would love to ship another carrier but I live quite literally in the middle of no where and have Cancer. The nearest place to drop off Fed Ex is about 35 miles round trip and when you add that the shipping costs it gets ugly. Plus even when i have a bad day I can make it the 3 and 1/2 miles to my local post office but can't promise I can make it to the next large town. Is there something you are concerned about? I can assure you that I pack these VERY VERY well. ~Namaste~
