Or I should have asked, tested it in some other way. I know there are a few ways to test it but I'm not sure which is best. Just want to make sure that you know for sure it's silver. Thanks.

Hi Kathleen.Actually I had no idea some were not silver.I bought in on Lstia as 50% silver but that is not reliable,so I did the magnet test it does not stick.

Anyway it definitely is silver.Tested also regular Canadian quarter that did stick.

yes and i think before 1940 there are all in 80% silver and not magnetic! the 1968 have 2 kind, one with 100% nickel and the coin here is 50% silver and 50% copper.
