I found this watch at an estate sale and was quite intrigued by it so I did some research on it.

The 3D Arts company produced "Holo-Watch" hologram watches in the late 80's and early 90's. The company established a reputation for producing the most reliable and durable hologram watches by combining a highly reliable Japanese quartmovement with bright high quality holograms which can be easily viewed and enjoyed.


Due to the complexity & cost of hologram production, the 3D Arts company ceased production and sales of Holo Watches in the late 90’s and the production of these watches were very limited.

Produced by lasers, the watch face or crystal contains a holographic recording substrate embedded within the crystal comprising light interference patterns which then reconstructs the image or object recorded when viewed under external light sources. The hologram image or object then appears to float over and above the watch face or hands when viewed under lighting.

To view hologram or time, tilt watch face to/from light source.

This Earth Hologram has been fitted with a new battery and works perfectly.

If I didn't need to thin out some of my collections I would probably be keeping this one because it definitely is a conversation piece.

This watch is unisex and has a black silicone band. Both band and watch are in excellent condition.

The watch face is 1 and 1/2" and on the back of the watch is stamped 3D art.

This would be perfect for a collector, for Earth day or just to have a conversation piece.
