This collectible bullion is a replica of one of the most iconic American Coins ever made....The Indian Head Eagle.
The original was a unique coin. Instead of striking the coins to have raised design elements and inscriptions, they were struck with an incuse design. Which means they were impressed below the surface. Although the coin was unpopular with the public at the time, it makes the series uniquely popular with modern collectors. The original composition of the coins was the standard 90% gold used at the time. The Indian Half Eagle series was struck continuously from 1908 to 1916, but then not produced again until the final year in 1929. The coins were produced at four different mints, but all 4, four mints never produced the same denomination in the same year.
