Description

The listing, Rainbow Grape "Surprise" *8 seeds* has ended.

RAINBOW GRAPES: They don’t reeeally exist. The “rainbow” color is a process some grapes go through as they ripen. I got these seeds on a whim, to see what they really turn out to be. I like all grapes, so I figured that if I got grape seeds, they would eventually grow grapes! Feeling adventures? Here’s your shot! The grapes pictured, are what I THINK I got...they are called, Gewurztraminer (both pictures), I believe they are from Germany.

High bidder gets 8 seeds

GROWING GRAPES (easy)
1. Plant the seeds in a small pot just under the top layer of soil. Place the pot inside a plastic bag. Alternatively, the seeds can be placed directly inside the bag, but this requires transferring them to a pot later.
2. Refrigerate the grape seeds for 30 to 90 days. Grape seeds require a period of a cold at temperatures below 40 degrees in order to end their dormancy. If you have a cold, dark areas outdoors that is free of wind and rain, you can store your seeds outside during the winter. Do not allow your seeds to freeze.
3. Remove the seeds from the refrigerator and allow them to warm inside your home. Keep the seeds inside the plastic bag used to store them in the refrigerator. Seeds should not be placed outdoors in direct sunlight, as too much heat and light will cause the seeds to die.
4. Remove the seeds from the plastic bag once they begin to germinate, typically after 30 days of warmer temperatures. The seeds should be placed on a windowsill or in a sunny, dry location outdoors. The soil inside your pot should be kept moist, but be careful not to cover water.
5. Transplant your seedlings into separate pots once they have grown to be about 8 cm tall. Place the seedlings in a sheltered, shady area away from rain and wind for 10 to 14 days.
6. Move your seedlings to a permanent location in direct sun. Plants should be spaced 96 inches apart.

LOL I had to ask though. I have a grape vine really should have kept seeds from and won't make that mistake again. Anyway it is a seedless grape but always find maybe like 2 a yr that ends up showing up out of the blue.
Anyway, nice auction!

Thank you! Yes, if you find some do keep them! I think it's fun to speculate! Besides, any grap's a good grape...

The ones here, I have not grown yet. I just got them a while back, for the fun of it. If they are the ones I "THINK" they are (Gewurztraminer), they are a lovely, pink wine grape and due to my life long, "I'll eat any grape policy," I like their flavor as an eating grape. :-)

This may seem naive., but how much garden space do you think you need to have grapes, tomatoes &some flowers, in a patio garden? Your help is much appreciated. f/w

There are millions who have never gardened. I wouldn't worry about what anyone thinks! A patio garden...hmmm... I can't say I have ever tried to grow grapes in a container. Anyone else know??? But, in one square foot of space, you can grow a surprising amount of food. Go to YouTube & type in "Square Foot Gardening." This should give you more ideas than you can use! Questions are always good, BTW. Fanned you back!

Love this! I'm always up for a surprise. To answer the above question though, grapes require lots of space as they vine. However I am sure if a person trained them they would grow up an arbor of some sort and look beautiful! :) f&w
