The listing, Sterling and Turquoise Handmade Native Ring Signed has ended.

Vintage silver ring size 9.5, not marked for metal content but with the age of the ring I am sure it is silver. This ring came from Bisbee Arizona back about 40 years ago. It is all handmade and signed DW for the maker. Bisbee is best known for it's beautiful and rare turquoise. The band is not split what you see are the joints of the metal strips coming together.

Because it is handmade it is not perfectly symetrical in design.

Looking at the joints indicates to me that the maker of the ring was not experienced in soldering. It is okay, if the turquoise is high quality. From the picture, it looks like it is. Is there any chipping, marring or fracturing of the turquoise? The shipping cost is okay. I sometimes use priority shipping. It costs $5.80 if you get it from post office and less if you order the boxes pre-paid on line. I get the postman to pick up and deliver right to my door. I hang everything in a plastic grocery bag with check and shipping instructions in an envelope. The postman brings tracking receipts next day. I am also disabled in a wheelchair with MS. The starting bid is okay if the turquoise is clean. The ring, from looking at the picture, would not hold any extreme value for me. I work with gold and silver and soldering. Only solder when my husband is home watching. I have actually turned the heat up too high before and drop things easily. As long as he sits and watches I seem to have better concentration. Most likely silver. Bezel looks a little rough. Tribes have been working with turquoise and silver for over a century at least. Is the ring worth credits and shipping? Absolutely. I will probably share this with a Native American silversmith in order to get a better perspective. Will bid regardless.

You can mail in padded envelope first class with tracking for about $3.50

Im not going to mail it in a padded envelope, it can get crushed or bent, and depending on zip code it can cost the same or more in a padded envelope.

There is the possibility that someone re-sized the ring. At any rate, it should be an easy fix.

As far as I can tell it has not been resized, the inner band is all 1 piece, it comes together at the top.

I see a lot of people complaining about having to pay $1.50 more for shipping in a safe priority box, which gets to the a day or two faster. Anyone worried over $1.50 must not know the value of the turquoise alone, plus bezel setting in a Native American ring that is signed. For a little less than $5 in credits and $6 shipping, it is a great deal. I don't have a problem with stealing it.

You are right, the value of the Ring alone is up there. You don't find these rings often nowadays, this was made by a native that set up shop on the street of Bisbee selling his handmade items.

You bought it yourself? So it is a one owner ring. That is wonderful, and a little sad that you are parting with it. if I win, it will make me happy. I always get nervous when the hours are timing out. you just never know about last minute bidding. Of course I would like to see this ring get the action it deserves, for your sake. Showed the ring to my husband and he said it is not sterling silver. He called it cheap silver. Now he said that is not an issue. He said the important thing is that it is hand made by a Native American Indian. He knows this type of jewelry, so you can bank on it. This does not diminish the value. It actually authenticates it. I learn something new every day. So it is more valuable than if it were sterling, instead of a lower grade of silver. Wonderful!
