@giojo: I come from a long line of gardeners/farmers. It is a survival skill and I agree that it ought to be taught to kids in school, but wouldn't that disrupt corporate America's GMO-growing economy?! Wow. We could, seriously, endeavor a "grass roots" [pun intended] anti-grocery-store revolution! LOL!

@WendySBaum: Yes...Three years ago I started giving plants & seeds to women,children and men in the surrounding area...These folks never grew anything before...Now they grow a garden every year and also realize the importance of it.....Each one does the same thing...they give plants and seeds to others and family members to grow every year....So far the number has reached 56 New Dedicated Gardeners .... I'm hoping soon to drive around these parts and see gardens everywhere because that in my mind will benefit not only the individual but the community as well....someday we may go to the grocery store with a pocket full of change but there may not be any grocery for us to buy ....Thank you for the comment ....I loved it!
