In this early effort, John Wayne appears with frequent co-star George 'Gabby' Hayes, and plays a lawman stricken with grief because he believes he was responsible for the death of his friend while chasing bandits. Crushed, 'The Duke' chooses the lonely life of prospecting, and only the need to rescue his dead friend's sister (Lucille Brown) from danger brings him around, which happily leads him to the real killer and justice. The cast of this exciting sagebrush saga also includes Leroy Mason and Buffalo Bill, Jr., and was reunited with its director, Robert N. Bradbury (The Trail Beyond, The star Packer), later that year for Rainbow Valley.
