Can this mold be used for porcelain or do you have any you could sell like that? Thanks.

Unfortunately Silicone molds can not be used for porcelain. Porcelain slip needs to have moisture removed so as to become greenware. Silicone is a moisture barrier and will not allow the slip to dry properly. Plaster-of-Paris is used in porcelain slip molds since the plaster wicks the moisture out of the slip.
I wish I could help more but I don't have any kind of molds used for porcelain. Thanks so much for your question and interest! Many Blessings to you!

Cute... but can't imagine making something edible from it. :-0
Could it be used for soap making? F&W
thanks!

They could be used for soap making. But it would be small soap. Most of the time the edible babies I make are out of gumpaste. I haven't had anyone eat one yet. They are to rock hard. =) Thank you and Many Blessings!

Too bad RE the porcelain :-( I've actually wondered where I could buy a porcelain mold like this as I recently acquired a small kiln that would be perfect for making this size of doll. Oh well.. All the best with your auction! F&W :-)

i hope i get this out so you understand, there is nothing to make the back side of the baby....its open, how do you get the back side of the baby to look like that?

=) The Open part down at the bottom is the very bottom of the baby, all of the baby is in there, even though it is a little hard to see. When you look directly inside the mold the first things you see is the head and ear, the face and back of the head is located on the sides of the mold, where it is a little difficult to see. I will send you some directions and a very helpful link to a video in your listia email to help you with your new creations. They can be a little tricky in the very beginning while learning how to use the mold. Make sure you have some sculpting tools to help you touch up imperfections. It will take some practice with the first few babies so don't give up if the first ones don't look great. It took me some practice and getting use to the shape of the mold before I quit crushing it's poor little ear when I was pushing it out the mold to soon before my medium rested and firmed up.
