This is a 1956 wheat penny someone made to look like a steel.It was in a lot of 10 steel penny rolls I bought.If anyone knows how or why they bothered to do this please let me know.Thanks for looking.

It's probably the result of a common science experiment in school- or it used to be common. I haven't been in school for......a long time!

I have seen aluminum pennies such as this, i believe it was to conserve steel for maufacturing war parts?? idk
