The listing, 2011 Fragrant Stock "Giant Imperial" seed packet has ended.
STOCKS, GIANT IMPERIAL
Annual. Stocks are famous for fragrance, grace and pizzazz and this tall variety with its big, sturdy spikes of purple, rose, crimson, yellow and white florets is no exception. Blooms form on multiple branches. One of the best cut flowers. Blooms early summer to hard frost.
Plant seeds outdoors in early spring as soon as soil can be worked. Do not cover seeds. (Seeds may be started indoors 6 to 8 weeks before the last frost.) Cultivate soil and enrich with Lilly Miller Rose & Flower Food or compost. Sow seeds on top of soil and keep moist until seedlings are established. Where winters are mild, seeds may be planted outdoors in the fall.
Questions & Comments
How tall do these get? Never heard of STOCKS :) are they like Balsams?
Mine never get more than 12 inches but this is a giant variety that says up to 24 inches...they remind me of sweet william and alyssum as far as smell and the flowers are very vivid--they almost look like mini hollyhocks. I can never find them anymore. Fanned back!
