I'm bidding on a high-end item that ends tomorrow, but I may come back and try to bring these pretty babies back home with me! You should give beading classes ...

thanks, I do like the way this one turned out too. I don't wear green much though so I am sure someone will love it. I am glad you are even TEMPTED to bid on it. That means a lot to me. As for classes... right now all I can do is work, eat, sleep, and try to find time to spend with my family somewhere in between. But luckily my hubby likes the jewelry stuff so we come up with designs together.

Oh, that is so great that you and your husband work together on everything. My husband sneers at everything I do, making jewelry drives him nuts and now my Listia "career" is his favorite target. Don't get me wrong, he's a great guy but has always been judgemental. Good training for my kids ... we just let him have his opinions and go on our merry way! Doesn't stop me from having fun.

Yesterday I got a BIG package in the mail. He's losing his job, so he's understandably moody, and he started to bit*h about it and I just tossed my head back and said "IT was FREE!!!! Leamee alone ..." I had SO much fun opening that package!

Working on stuff together is fun, and sometimes challenging...to find the right balance in interests. ;)

This really is stunning, I just can't get over it, and the photography is great. You might be able to get truer, clearer colors with a different color light bulb -- the "reveal" brand and other "natural daylight" bulbs, you can buy them for most lamps in the supermarket now. Then, edit the photo to move it more toward the cool color spectrum, and bump up the contrast. Sounds like a big deal, but really once you get the hang of it you can edit hundreds of photos pretty quickly.

Didn't really know about the "reveal" and daylight" bulbs. All I ever see are "regular" bulbs.

This would also be a good type of bracelet to dangle in front of your light, see how it comes out. That's how I got those great photos of the coin beads in your bracelets.

Thanks for the advice. In the future, we may have to look into the different bulbs.

I use a little craft lamp, like the Ott Light, but a less expensive brand. It has an 18-watt four-row compact flourescent bulb. Those bulbs cost a lot to replace, but last literally forever unless you break them somehow. But I think you can get just as good results with any small desk lamp and a natural-daylight bulb. These have a bluer, colder color than normal household bulbs, which are very yellow.

ah, I have a desk type lamp that I use, or I use as much natural light as I can to prevent glare. I can also adjust the colors with my photo program. I can go toward the cooler colors. I tend to go to the warms for people but I need to remember that. Thanks for the tips.

I think just beading together is very cool. I'm sure he has very different creative mojo than you have, probably comes up with much different designs. That's the fun thing about seeing what other beaders come up with. You can take almost any kind of bead and make something beautiful out of it. The beads I'm putting on Listia, some of the just have made me kinda mad ... I keep trying to use them and they keep looking awful because I have FAILED >>>>

yeah, we do have different tastes, but we try to compromise and make it like we both like it. Sometimes it works and sometimes not. I keep trying with some of these beads too. I tend to leave it once its done but he wants to redo those that are not perfect. Failure it just an opportunity to do better next time.

Regarding the bulbs: Reveal brand is a daylight - natural light bulb, but most supermarkets now have multiple brands with cooler color light. Peruse the bulbs next time you are in the supermarket or Home Depot/Lowes type of store. It's kind of overhwleming ...

ahh yes, I have actually noticed that there are TONS of different kinds of bulbs out there.

Stacey, the next time you list one of these, show a closeup of the clasp. Did you make that yourself?
Mar 13th, 2010 at 5:29:24 AM PST by

OK, yeah, sometimes I do make a clasp out of wire. Thanks for the suggestion. I never thought of mentioning that.

I updated the pictures of my blue necklace. I added a close up of the hand made clasp of sterling silver wire. I am adding 2 more necklaces today also. Please check them out. Thanks for looking.
