the package actually specifies it as a 2.5 male to 3.5 female. i do not know if there is a difference or what difference it may or may not make. i hope you can tell by the info if it will suit your needs.

nop that is EXACTLY what i am looking for i am tryign to use my nice computer headset (plantronics 777 5.1) on my xbox 360 i need a 3.5 female to 2.5 male to get the mic jack to be able to plug in to the xbox controller so yea thanks for the info just double checking :)

that is similar to what i bought it for it was just the wrong size. when i bought it i was in a hurry and didn't know what size i needed so i bought the other size too. i just never got around to taking it back until it was too late. they have a 60 or 90 day policy or some such nonsense. which is understandable. our local radio shack is in a out of the way place that i don't normally go to so it was easily forgotten.
