I just did some more research. What I have found is that the rabano radish was originally grown in Egypt in 2700 B.C. It started as a wild radish and its popularity spread to different areas. It's usually eaten fresh, but can be cooked or dried. (I've never actually cooked a radish.) According to some references, it has nutritional value of iron, Vit. C, potassium, folic acid, and thiamin. It can also give roughage, which helps with constipation. It took a while to find it, so I thank you MsCougar, for your efforts. It looks like radishes do actually add to a healthy diet! :)
