The auction is for.... Ten +....Glaskins Perpetual Rhubarb seeds...An English Heirloom , open pollinated , Non GMO , that produces Greenish Red stems that are extra Fine textured and bitter free, (low oxalic acid content), .....which makes it an excellent choice for the making of Pies, Tarts , Jam, Wine and other Desserts.....................The height of the Beautiful plant is 24 inches and the spread is 48inches....Fairly easy to grow....soak the seed in water for about four hours before planting in small pots indoors in potting soil ......sow seed approx. 1/2 ' deep , (no deeper).....seed will germinate in approx. 7 to 14 days at room temperature........transplant outside after the danger of frost......Rhubarb likes rich, humus, well drained soil.....Allow for some shade in hot summer areas....If the plants are Healthy a light cutting may be possible the first year but the harvesting will begin the second year and thereafter.......Mulch to protect in cold climate areas......An Excellent choice and a very Fine pick for the home Gardener.....Free shipping to the USA, (lower 48 ),......Thanks for viewing and Best of Luck!

So glad to see rhubarb on the site :) Fanned and watching as time grows closer I'll bid on this. Wonderful rhubarb for the northeast area. Great for pies and just general eating with some sugar substitute or raw with salt ;)

Love rhubarb! I thought it had to be planted from a root transplant? I tried growing some but I guess I didn't put it in the right area.

Yes!... we just love Rhubarb strawberry pie....yes... you can plant it form root stock also...Rhubarb likes rich,humus well drained soil but it can grow in just about any type soil...Thank you and Best of Luck if you decide to bid!
