Description

The listing, Ving Peach--12 Fresh Seeds has ended.

They are the same size, color and food value as tree peaches. Vine Peaches make excellent preserves and pies, and have a vine-ripe flavor and texture much like a mango. It's an easy plant to grow, with fruit maturing on spreading vines in about 80 days. Train on a trellis, or let it grow on a fence. Their sugar content is such that if eaten fresh off the vine, they may not seem as sweet as one would expect, but many say they are.
Plant after danger of frost in hills 4 to 6 feet apart. Plant seed not over 1/2 inch deep 4 to 6 to the hill, pressing soil firmly over them. When plants are well established thin to 3 to each hill. Seed can also be started indoors for an earlier harvest. Treat yourself to an unusual fruit!...Packet includes 12 fresh seeds.

Well, they are a lot better used in pies and preserves. I have read mixed reviews of their off-the-vine sweetness indicating a lack of peach-like sugar content. On the other hand, some love them off-he-vine..We'll see...Thanks for the interest.

They sound great and maybe with these I can tempt my husband to eat some fresh fruit. Im looking for both decorative plants and produce plants but I have to be careful due to pets. If you have any suggestions please share! F&W

Some say that they are not all that great eaten fresh and some do...That is why it is recommended to make pies and jeelies out of them . I think it has something to do with overall sugar content. For eating-off-the- tre, I prefer a good peach or plum...Get him to try one of those.
