Description

The listing, 1905 Indian Head Penny, 106 years old, WOW !!! has ended.

The penny in this auction IS NOT the penny in this pic. The penny for this auction is a 1905 Indian head penny in very similar condition to this one in the pic, all beat up, It was found on a deserted beach with a metal detector. Everything found was at least 100 years old, pretty cool huh ?? My eyes are not great, with a magnifying glass I can see it's date very clearly 1905. That makes it a whooping 106 years old !! I do not think it is suitable for a coin collection but for a charm or necklace I think it's perfect. It is not worn the normal worn flat, it has a bumpy look to it probably from being in salt water for a century. I personally think the bumpy aspect is pretty unique and cool looking. I gave a few of these out on key chains and necklaces and people said they loved them. The real indicator was when I noticed that people were actually using them. So I guess they weren't just being polite.. A genuine American historic artifact. BONUS BONUS BONUS I have gotten more then 1000 points for similar penny, but for this auction. If the points go over 750 I will throw in another indian head penny from the same find. It is in worse condition, in fact I can not read it's date, but still, geniune Indian head Good luck.

UPDATE :

Because of a recent issue I feel I need to specify that I will not be liable if there is a claim of non receipt of item.unless the buyer opts to pay for the delivery confirmation fee. I have mailed thousands of items via eBay never once having a non delivered. I have total confidence in the USPS. I am sorry to say the old saying "there are always a few that spoil it for the rest of us"

I don't know why he would bid on another of my auctions after saying I do not deliver, but if he was to win this one, I will send with delivery confirmation. he is now blocked and that will be the end of it. I am very tempted to offer a big bonus to the winner of this auction excluding him.

I don't know anything about what happened with you & that person, and I do agree there are some 'bad apples' out there who 'claim' they don't get things even if they do... but you've been lucky... personally USPS has lost my faith & trust anymore. I honestly have lost count of how many things that get delivered to me, but are addressed to other addresses in my neighborhood, because they don't pay attention, I mean hundreds of items in 3 years at this address... or how many things people mail to me that never show up (I wonder if my neighbors get them & keep them)... and the most obvious failures on USPS part are the tons of envelopes I receive that are torn, shredded, and/or destroyed... 90% of those arrive empty... and I've gotten at least 50, probably more, torn open, destroyed, etc envelopes in the last year... that's a lot!! So I have very little confidence in our USPS anymore. And sadly, they are raising rates again Apr 17, even though they are terrible at handling the mail lately. But since they have the monopoly on small envelopes/parcels, we don't have much choice. Just my 2 cents cuz when I saw your 'confidence' it struck me funny. Good luck getting a winner you want! :-D

I really do not know what to make of your comment. One thing though. I do not care who wins my auctions as long as the do not try to cheat me. Ya think that's reasonable of me ?? I also think my experience with the USPS is typical.

I just took a look at your feedback and it looks like you get a lot of key chains. I can explain one thing that may be contributing to the problem. A key chain loose in a plain envelope will never ever make it threw the USPS sorting machines. When you do get one in a plain envelope the only reason it arrived is the postal workers were diligent and saw the bulky envelope and pulled it before it went threw the machine and then hand sorted it. This could be one of the issues why you are having problems. Stuff like that really needs to be put in a padded envelope. Not so much for protection, but to be identified and not be put in the automated machines. Let me make this clear. I have no love for the USPS or it's employees. I think the money they waste is staggering and the average postal worker walks around with a chip on their shoulder with the attitude that they will not be fired for any wrongdoing. I worked there years ago and witnessed many criminal acts. But I also witnessed the mountains of mail being broken down and delivered daily to over 200 million addresses. It also sounds that you have a particularly bad mailman. Which I am surprised has not been pulled off his route. I think if you ask around, you will hear that your experience is not typical at all.
