Hibiscus acetosella, also known as Red Leaf Hibiscus, False Roselle, or African Rose Mallow. The delicious edible leaves and flowers are the reason to grow this special type of hibiscus.

It tolerates some shade, is highly resistant to root-knot nematodes, is not affected by pests or diseases, tolerates drought conditions, and is a great container plant.

What temps. do they tolerate?

We have them pretty much all year here in Dunedin, FL (West Central FL). We have gotten down into the high 30's this winter and they didn't get negatively affected. We haven't seen high heat cause any problems as long as they get occasional water, and we have them growing strong all thru summer here. Hope that helps. :)
