Silver and Black Stone (unknown type) Ring - Size 7

This is a very pretty and interesting woman's ring. The stone is solid black - not translucent at all. I don't have any idea what the stone is. Most of the rings I bought from this jeweler were sterling with a glass stone. This ring does not appear to be glass.

The ring setting is decorative cast silver or silver-tone metal that extends down both sides of the ring. The background of the decorative casting is darkened to highlight the raised decorative areas.

The ring is stamped with what appears to be H25 on the inside (see the last picture). I don't know what this marking means and could not find any information on it.

I believe the ring is silver (I was told it was silver when I purchased it from a jeweler in 2003), but without a clear 925 marking, I won't list it as such. I wore the ring for years and it never turned my finger any funky colors.
