Description

The listing, Vintage postcard of the Leviathan at Southampton (luxury liner/World War I era) has ended.

United States Lines, Leviathan at Southampton. Built for the Hamburg-Amerika Line and originally names the Vaterland, this luxury liner was the largest of its kind. Confiscated during World War I and renamed the Leviathan, the ship was used to transport US troops to Europe. After the war the Leviathan was operated by the US government as a passenger ship.

National Archives and Records Administration, Washington, DC 20408

I have many other vintage World War I and World War II postcards listed. These are not from that era I don't think but only depictions of posters from that era They don't look that old although they may be. They are in excellent condition.
