Keep Him Free. The US Treasury commissioned Charles Livingston Bull (1874-1932) to create this poster for the War Savings Stamps/Liberty Loans program in 1918. A well-known wildlife illustrator, Bull lived near the Bronz Zoo and used many of its inhabitants as models. He was particularly concerned with the plight of the American Eagle, which he used in at least two World War I posters. The original measures 20"x30".
