For those that are fond of the black tomatoes, this is one to add to your "must-have" list. Deep mahogany fruits with green shoulders have a rich, tangy flavor. Although from Russia and not Africa, these plants continued producing through our hot summer, and right up until frost. Impress your friends with the most unique salsa too! That was made fresh with Black Ethiopian and Black Krim tomatoes.

This Auction: You will be receiving 15 seeds from my garden. They will be sent First Class mail for FREE in the United States. I am happy to say that my seeds tested 99-100% germination within 2 weeks at a temp of 65°F in the spring. Excellent for beginners!

Propagation Method: From seed, sow seeds indoors 6 weeks before last spring frost. Sow 2-3 seeds per pot and thin to one plant per container. After four weeks, transplant seedlings to larger pots, and about 10 days before the last spring frost, begin hardening the plants to the outdoors. Transplant your plants to a sunny, highly composted location when soil temperatures are at least 55 to 60 degrees Fahrenheit. Stake or cage the plants for support and to prevent sprawling on the ground.

What most people do not know is that heirloom seeds are non-GMO seeds. As a general consumer you would never even be able to buy GMO seeds commercially even if you wanted to, not that you would want to. They are only sold to huge farms that have a contract with Monsanto. Now it is a different story if you save seeds from grocery store produce. You do not know about those & many are trading seeds from the grocery store right here on Listia. I only grow from seed that is certified organic and heirloom, though a few are from artisan breeders. None are GMO though. You are safe with my seeds. :)
