This is a great all around pumpkin. It is deep orange in color and has a tough skin and thick flesh and is excellent for carving or eating, but the most remarkable trait this pumpkin has is storage. These keep longer than any other pumpkin I have ever grown even after being carved. I grew three different varieties of pumpkins last year and carved one of each before Halloween. After Halloween, I put them out in my garden area to return to the soil. A month later the other two pumpkins had completely disintegrated, while this one almost looked as good as the day I carved it. The flesh is very thick and has excellent flavor for pumpkin pies, muffins, etc.
I bred this variety myself by crossing a "Jack-o-lantern" with a "Knucklehead". An occasional wart may appear from the Knucklehead breading, but they are mostly smooth with medium deep lobes and a very deep orange color. I have been growing these for a few years now and these seeds were organically grown in my back yard during the 2013 season and are not GMO.
