I have a great, safe recipe for Rabbit litter that is great for your indoor bunny. I use it in my bunny's corner litter pan and in a pan I use when I let him out the run the house. It has a strong and pleasant aroma. Also it is 100% natural. I will send the recipe straight to you with in two days of winng.
Questions & Comments
Bidding. I'm interested but worried about the "strong and pleasant aroma".
I call it a strong aroma because the fresh smell of most litter is quite faint. You have to be very, very close to smell them. This litter you can lightly smell it when you open your container and when you get very, very close it's not over powering but it is definitely there. As for the pleasant part it is a nice "clean" smell. Almost like baking soda or more like arm n' hammer carpet freshener powder.
one of the benefits of this smell is it seem to have help my rabbit get litter trained. He will go on the litter with that smell. In his cage we have a corner litter pan with this litter in it and the rest of his cage is just pine bedding. He will only potty in the litter pan but if I spill or put enough in another spot on the pine he will potty there too.
Fragrances are not good for a rabbit as it can cause respiratory problems, that's why I was concerned. I would love to find a different litter to use but I'm very picky with my pets. I'm willing to make it and check it out though. You should never use pine or cedar. Aspen pine is supposed to be ok but I still don't take the chance.
My rabbit was litter trained but now that he's older he refuses to use it, lol, not sure why but a couple of years ago he just decided he want's nothing to do with it anymore. I finally gave up and just took it out. He turns 10 in May.
Hmm I heard about the cedar being dangerous but I've hadn't heard about Pine. Thanks for that info :) The Pine I have been using is Aspen. Still I will be looking for new bedding now. Also the litter has no Pine or cedar, Thank goodness.
