Yes I can do local pick up. No it costs nothing to download the software. You just need to go to the linksys website and it is on their site for free.

I believe this router is version 1.0 though I am not positive on that as it does not have a version number on the sticker itself that I have seen.

Yes it supports up through Windows 7 if I am correct for the software though the router itself doesn't matter it goes strictly off internet connection.

That is for the software only. This is a standard wired and wireless router that goes up to wireless/wired N routing. The operating system does not matter for the internet connection itself. It only matters with the software to set it up. Even that requirement can be bypassed if you directly connect to it through the use of its web based interface. If you go to the site you can download the manual and read through all setup and other requirements. The operating system only matters if your going to set up the software. Windows 7 can run software as a Windows XP or Vista compatibility mode plus use the drivers as a backwards compatible device due to this feature.

I downloaded the software when I first got this and it worked fine. As I said I do not know which version it is as it is not listed on the sticker. So it might be version 2.0.

Ok to make this simple.....This is a working wireless/wired N router. I do not know the version as it is not listed. I know this works as I had it hooked up and working on my network. All specifications, manuals, abd software can be found at the linksys website and can answer much more than I can. I will answer what I can but my knowledge outs limited on this. It does work at a/b/g/n wired and wireless. All information I know has been posted.

http://support.linksys.com/en-us/support/routers/WRT310N ......... Click on Downloads and then you select version. It lists both version 1.0 and 2.0 and then on the left hand side about midway down it lists download links one for Mac and the other for Windows.
