Description

The listing, WV Coal Miners Markers has ended.

These are the tags the men moved from the out board to the in board before going into the mines, so if there was a disaster, they could look at the board and see who was in the mines. Each man was given a number, which followed them as long as they worked in that mine. THe dark 1 is from 1920's and the bright 1 from 1930's

it seems people like to know the back story on my treasures, these tags came from JoAnn Mines in Rachel, WV. One was my Grandfather Ben Fletcher's and the other was my Uncle Melvin's. Grandma Grace gave them to me when I was very young so my mother kept them until I was old enough to take care of them. I don't know if she ever got daddy's. I hope whoever gets them appreciates their history and what they were used for.

Very neat story! I love all things with a story! More fun than something new
