This Stuff is Free Too:
Description

The listing, All-In-One: Digital Camera/Shoot Video Clips/PC-Web Cam (PLEASE READ FULL DESCRIPTION) has ended.

Brand: Cyber Pix.

(Includes photo editing software.)

Package camera comes in includes:
Digital Camera
USB Cable Connector
PhoTags CD-ROM Software
User Manual (with phone number for tech support)
Neck Strap (already attached)
(I put brand new batteries in the camera - 2 AAA's)

PLEASE NOTE: I had absolutely NO luck operating this camera as a traditional ... camera. It seemed as though the viewfinder is not aligned correctly. I MAY have been doing something wrong, and there is that tech support phone number, but I did not call it to verify that it is in service or they would be able to help. Quality of the pictures I did get (not of intended subjects) were a bit grainy, but -- then again -- there are various settings on the camera, & I didn't want to read through the manual.

There is no screen on the back of the camera, just what seems like a plastic viewfinder to look through.

HOWEVER: This "camera" is GREAT FUN when you attach it to your computer and use it as a web cam, and/or apparently you can then take pics or shoot video clips straight from your computer!!!

If you just want to bring items to your computer and take pictures of them to list items on listia, etc., this would be GREAT, but I think I want to save up my money to upgrade.

Image on computer screen looks great when using as a web cam, but as far as I could tell, you do have to hold on to the "camera" yourself, unless you can manage to prop it up on something.

I highly recommend reading the owner's manual, which I did not take the time to do. It's not even that big of a manual. It won't take too much time, and it is in plain language, from the parts I read.

I will write 2 blurbs below:

What you can do with the included software
AND
Minimum PC Requirements (so this will work for you)

Will not work with a Mac!
Does not take memory cards!

A darling camera that is a lot of fun once you hook it up and use it directly from your computer!!!

Minimum Requirements:
-Windows 2000, XP or Vista
(I have Windows 7, & a 64-bit machine. Software loaded, and cam worked from computer!)
-Pentium II 300, Celeron AMD Athlon Processor or higher (Pentium III 400, Celeron AMD Athlon Processor, AGP video card recommended)
-128 MB or more RAM
-250 MB free hard drive space or above
-CD-ROM drive!
-Available USB Port!
-16-bit color display adapter
-2 AAA batteries (included, new, in camera)

OK, I don't know what half of these "requirements" mean. As long as your computer isn't a TOTAL dinosaur, and it IS NOT a mac, and you have the obvious things on the list, the webcam/camera and software should work with your computer.

Happy bidding!

I believe there is a good home out there for this sweet/cool little cam!!!

Well, as I didn't read the whole manual, I shouldn't make any promises, but I would think it SHOULD be able to do that. There would be no mic/sound (unless your computer already has that), and you would have to find a way to put the camera on the right settinng to hold it the right distance from yourself and/or prop it up somehow for it to stay in one place. This is how I understand it, anyway. I can't imagaine they would have used the phrase "web cam" if it didn't work as one you could use where other people could see you in a chat-type environment. But, strange things happen. I know when I hooked it up, and pointed the camera at myself I could see MYSELF crystal clear (whatever mode it was in). Sorry if this was not too helpful of an answer. I can look up the definition of "web cam" on wikipedia or dictionary.com and see if it AUTOMATICALLY means what you are asking, if you want me to..., since I seem to not even be sure myself right now.
