The listing, CLASSIC ANTIQUE VERY LARGE GLASS CAMEO FAUXTORT GLASS has ended.
This is an absolutely gorgeous showstopper! this is large measuring in at two inches high, and it really has some very significant depth and dimension to it as well. if you love cameos, you are really going to like this one. cam-6
This Cabochon with a Porcelain Lady. The heat/scorch marks on the back are from hand applying the scallop wire edge. More than likely it is a locket (pic #3). There is another layer under the cabochon which forms the bezel coming up the edge. The cabochon is secured to that. Repairs at 1:00, 2:00 and 7:00 show use of Gold Solder, 10K, a lighter shade than the what the piece is made from. 14K Heavy Jewelers Plate is a three layer sandwich with a thin middle of a similar colored metal. Usually done for strength and durability, not to be inexpensive, it was extra work. See if you can slip a fingernail file between the raised loops and the ones along the bottom, where the layers show separation. It may have an internal hinge, and a keepsake inside. If it doesn't pop easy, don't force it, the corner jeweler can look and tell you, might make his day.
ok as excited as i was to look at this, this is not a pendant locket. its just a plain down right gorgeous huge class cameo! thanks so much for your interest!
Ever seen a ring-dent? It is a pendant, which has a lock-hinge on its back. You undo the lock, slip the jacket around which forms a ring shank, lock it into the #2 position and slide it on your finger.
