would it be 1 from year from 1920-1996 or just 1952-1996?

truthfully I do not even look at the dates. The machines sort them out from USD circulation for me, and they end up in a Canadian pile. So if the metal content is 95%+ copper, then yes, theoretically they could be in that range of dates... but it is not likely to be that old in all reality.
