Description

The listing, Crochet Prayer Doily for Charity LLS 7 has ended.

On December 27, 2012, our lives were turned upside down when my husband was diagnosed with leukemia. Acute Myeloid Leukemia, or AML.

There are many different subtypes. We found out that his subtype had a 90/10 percent chance that he would relapse the first year. So, he was put on the donor list through Be the Match. To date, they have not found a match but prayer does work! He is still in remission and it will be one year June 2014. We continue to pray that he is in that 10% group.

During his hospital stays, we have met some remarkable people!! Liz is one of those people, another patient in the cancer ward, fighting lymphoma for the second time.

Liz knitted "Prayer Squares" and gave us one!! I traded her some doilies. She is such a sweetheart and an inspiration! This gave me an idea for all those doilies that I love to crochet but never know what to do with!!

I have turned them into "Prayer Doilies" and each doily that I list, will benefit $10.00, donated by me, to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. I will send you the receipt with the doily when I mail it to you. I also have some for sale, each for $10.00 on another site.

Each one is a little different, either in color combinations or pattern. This particular doily is about 4 1/2" and crocheted with new 100% cotton thread, ecru color.

Attached with a ribbon, is a card that says:

Prayer Doily
"Fear thou not; for I am with thee; be not dismayed' for I am thy God; I will stregthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness." Isaiah 41:10.

On the other side, it says:
The Lord will provide,
His message is clear,
In His love abide,
Dispel all your fear.
Jesus hears your prayer. You can trust in Him."

This is a great little gift for someone in need of a word of hope and encouragement. Please consider this as a way to help someone and help the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

We thank you!! Listia rules apply.

Wonderful job! May God bless you and your family. Watching....would love one for my mom who was recently diagnosed with lung cancer, and I also have a daughter who has been diagnosed with a brain tumor. God has been so good to us as my daughter has not had any issues and she is doing great. Even got to loose her glasses. I know prayer works!! Sending prayer and love your way!! Thanks!

Thank you! I love to crochet and thought this a great way to help LLS. I sold some last year for $10 each and made a little for LLS. I thought, what the heck, I will donate the $10, send a receipt to prove it with the doily and I can still help them. They are a great bunch of people and still need lots of research.

Thank you, Jodie. As my husband says, he is the lucky one . . . there are so many in worse condition. Believe it or not, a young man with AML, going through his SECOND round of induction therapy was the one to uplift MY spirits!! I'd like to pass that hope on and help LLS find a cure . . . . soon.
