The listing, 7 Vintage Tennis Bracelets, Gold & Silver has ended.

Unfortunately, I am unable to read the markings on these beautiful bracelets. They are all approximately 71/2" in length. I feel you can tell their quality just by looking at them.
Since I can't read the markings, this is really all the info I have on them.

I am glad I joined Listia I have met some amazing people I too have noticed that the kids have no respect for the auctions. I had to report 14 LIVE ANIMAL auctions yesterday. But, I won't let them ruin it for me. It is my Christmas everyday. I LOVE your bracelets and will be winning them I HOPE. Thank you for the auction.

Whoa, I'm sure glad I didn't run across the live animal auctions. Every now and then I just start to get so fed up with it all. That's when I think it's time to lay off listing auctions for awhile. I do that every now and then. My nerves just aren't as good as they used to be. Nobody's fault, just a whole bunch of everything. Thanks for pulling me out of that.

That is so sweet. I wish my body didn't feel 60 or older. ;). I also have met some amazing friends on here. A few will be lifelong, I'm sure. It just seems like here recently Listia isn't screening their members very well. I have run into problems and the majority of them have turned out to be kids. Not even allowed on Listia. I don't know. Seems like there are more scams now than there once was. Which I guess is why everybody is getting more distrusting. But you're right the majority are good people. I just hope it stays the majority.

I was reading the comments about the magnets. They do work to tell you if the bracelet is an alloy. I will say though that some jewelry makers use clasps that are not solid gold because it is a soft metal that can be bent. So if a magnet won't pick up the chain but it will pick up the clasp then most likely it is gold. And I especially like the comment by the person who said the stuff on here is free so if people are looking to make money, they should go elsewhere. We give out of the kindness of our hearts, to declutter, and get things we actually need. That's it, plain and simple and I'm sure is the premises for which listia was started, not so anyone could make money. Loves to you, awesome auction!

You are absolutely correct. I always considered Listia to go hand in hand with the old adage that "One man's junk is another man's treasure" Ideally, this is what I believe it is suppose to be all about. And it's a fabulous idea. But then enters the one's that think they are here to turn a profit, or even worse, the one's that think they can con, or deceive you into thinking you are getting something you're not.. Those are the worst.
I personally bid on the things I like or want or even need. Sometimes I get something that isn't really what I thought it would be, or doesn't look as good on me as I thought it would. When that happens, I just turn around and see if someone else might want it. Most of the time, someone does. Which proves that old adage I mentioned previously, is actually true. It looks likeyou have a good camera. If you get a close up of the clasps on the marked side, I bet the markings will show up clearly. I have done that just to check my own stuff before and finally was able to know what was real and what wasn't! :)

Lovely bracelets. Maybe try a magnifying glass. I use that and my jewelers loupe.

I tried a magnifying glass I think I was wearing my contacts, or took my glasses off when the photo of me was taken. But I'm basically blind as a bat. ;) Seriously I have real think glasses, and am very near-sighted. Always have been since second grade. Now that I'm 60 yrs old my poor eyes just don't see as good as I used to. Sorry. All I can say about these bracelets, is that they more than likely aren't the most expensive bracelets, but they aren't the cheapest either. At least in my opinion.
To be honest I would think you could tell by looking at them. But I am going through something with an eternity ring I just auctioned and the girl is claiming it's not sterling silver, even though it's stamped .925. So I am getting pretty frustrated here, and I'm trying to be as honest as I can about these bracelets. Surely you can tell how small any marking would have to be. I'm almost to the point of just pulling the auction and waiting until I can get something IN WRITING, from a jeweler, if that's what it takes.,. As for right now, I just hope that everyone will look at the bracelets and judge for themselves. I don't know what more I can say.

Deb, I think you are doing a remarkable job, and what we all have to remember with this site is it is free basically. This is not a place to make alot of money if people are looking for things that will be gauranteed to be authentic they need to bid on ebay. We who list on here are doing it to help others benefit from something we dont want and that they do. That at least is the approach I always take.. my hope is to always brighten someones day. Me personally plan on bidding on these, there is much I can do to dress these up and perhaps re-purpose and re-post. I am stuck in a wheel chair so my outlet is to design and recycle making old new again. so keep up the great work.

I have some stuff that I'l send you, if you win,that may be of use to you in your jewelry making. I thought about trying o do that, but my eyesight just isn't the best for dealing with little bitty items. I do work on watches and try and refurbish them. the silver is silver because you can tell where its starting to tarnish and silver will do that if left out in the air too long..and theres at least one i bet is gold

Thanks again. You know it's not that young people are bad, but when they are underage and not even suppose to be on the site, it makes it bad for everybody. Nice lot, whether real or costume. Markings make no difference to me, as if there is something I like and it looks nice, well that is all that matters. Often times I find things that are simply nice and bid on them not giving them a second's thought if real or costume. Have a great auction, but unfortunately a little too pricey for my credits. LoL! It has to be a stronger magnet to pick them up and yes it is true. I am allergic. If a strong magnet grab or pulls the piece of jewelry it is not precious metals but rather alloy. Most refrig mags will at least move the piece if there is alloy base.

They are still beautiful either way. Did you try a magnet? A jeweler would be the best in testing if they are real. You look great for 60 :)

Well, I'm afraid Ms. lauraleearnold, has given my camera a little too much credit. I tried and tried, but all I got was a blurred mess. Some of them I can't even tell if there is any marking at all, some, of them looked like it was a word, but I won't swear to anything. One even looked like there was a marking on the little circle.I wish I had one of those jewelers loupes. Might prove to be a good investment at this point. So I suppose guys, the best I can do is to say, if you like the bracelets and the way they look, then by all means feel free to bid. I truly wish I could give you more info on these, but I just can't. They are very tiny and my eyes are very old.
