That's right, up for grabs is a fully-functional Tivo system. Tivo was the greatest thing ever, but I just don't watch much TV these days. If you look up the specs, there are a ton of things this can do. You can transfer content to your computer, or you can transfer movies/pictures from your computer to your Tivo. You can rent Netflix. You can download free music videos. Play games. Check the weather. Order a pizza. Tons of stuff!!

The buttons on the remote are a little faded from use, but everything works great. Included is the Tivo, power cable, IR remote sensors (if you have a cable box), manual, and remote.
This baby holds up to 80 hours of quality recording, and has a dual-tuner - so you can watch one thing while recording another. Or record two things at once.

They have monthly, yearly, and lifetime rates. It's actually a very cheap service to use, which is why you never hear anyone complaining about it. :)

As temping as it'd be to let one assume that, I still prefer honesty. The box may have been around $300 new, but I'd only be able to sell it for half of that, locally, as it's been used.

You can use it with HD TVs, and you can change the recording quality to the top notch and it looks fantastic, but it does not have the extra jacks for pure HD signal.

No, I reset it back to factory settings. Mostly because I had all of my preferences set up, my watch lists, my recording schedule, my internet settings, my "thumbs-up" and "thumbs-downs" and so on.

I will also mention that the website also says the "browse" feature isn't available on this box. Again, it's marketing. Tivo Browse was simply "browse" with this box, and it does work (it's how I found most of my enjoyable little obscure shows).

Is this the newest version? I currently have Dish with dvr and I am SICK of the high bill every month, I am thinking of giving it up if I can find a good tivo. Is it HD capable?

It records whatever you have. If you pay for cable, you can record cable. If you just have antenna, that's all you'll get. You can still rent Netflix and such on it as well.

It'd work, as long as your antenna has the adapter to screw a regular cable into the back. Though, you may not be able to get a guide, you'd still be able to set up manual recording times.

This works with any cable company. What matters is the cable running into your box. The system doesn't care who's sending out that signal - except for the guide information, and even then, Tivo has a huge database of all of that.
I looked it up, and Cable One says Tivo does have their program guide data.
