The listing, Antique Trivet has ended.

6" square iron or steel (unsure), painted black with lettering in white and the wagon in red, the little man in blue pants and hat. These were used to sit hot dishes on and not ruin their dining table finish. It became very fashionable to have saying put on them. This one says "WEEK-END GUEST If we get to drinking Sunday afternoon and start insisting that you stay over until Tuesday, please remember WE DON"T MEAN IT". I have collected them for almost 50 years, but was only able to find a very few antique ones with sayings. This is the oldest one I have, unsure how old, but it was before cars. It is the heaviest one also.

I have more and will put them on here a couple at a time. I am hunting homes for all my favorite treasures, I won't be around many more years and they are getting to much for me to keep clean, so they are going up for adoption and I think they will find good homes from here.

This is a beautiful piece. 8 yrs. ago I was hit by a freight truck on my Harley. I had a minute left to life and I made it. I take things one day at a time. I like this piece and would enjoy having it in my home which is where I spend most of my time. I'm thankful for everything. I'd be honored to win this. F & W

I am so sorry to hear about your accident. Thank God you made it and are still among us. I understand where you are coming from, I have been house bound for over 4 years now, lots of illnesses which has taken their toll. My doctor sent me home from the hospital this last time and told me to get my affairs in order, nothing more can be done. I do not believe in willing things as you don't know what will happen, I prefer to find them homes and this is a great way to know they will be appreciated. My grandson will get my Listia credits, I have given him and my son what they will cherish, and other friends and family members things they love, but didn't want to see my treasures just tossed away. I hope you can win the trivet, but I several more I will be putting on here, maybe you will like one of them if you don't get this one. I wish you the best.

I bid on them both and I'll do my best to win one. I think how your handling your situation is commendable. I suffer day/night but I became a Grandma and my husband is still with me through it all. Over 30 years together and I have both of my children. So I'm blessed with family and friends. I do what I can because one of my surgeries I can only have a few more times and than they don't have any answers for me either. So I just finished my 30th surgery and I pray I won't need one for awhile. Take care and God bless. Your in my prayers. Thanks again for sharing. I have one just like this that belonged to my Mom and Dad. This piece is from the late 60s to early 70s. It is very vibrant in color and a great conversation piece.
