Spiderswort, Widow's Tears; I even heard it called "cow slobber!" But before I learned any of those names, I named it "purple popcorn." Not because it looks like popcorn (it doesn't), but that's kind of how it blooms. it's stems are weighted down with flower buds which open in a scattered, seemingly random fashion - a whole bunch at first, but they continue to bloom throughout the summer, here and there, ...can't figure out how to end this sentence, kinda like how they bloom.
