Questions & Comments
their are over 1,000 mines in Australia, can you name me more then 3? Can you name me what 5 mines that top the list of major gemstones sold in Australia? Can you name me what other gemstones, besides opals come from Australia? Q & A see me!
Thanks for the extra pictures. It shows the play of color against another color. Gorgeous. Do you think everyone is going to be busy today and let it get away. What a steal!
Yes it has a lot of fire it it. no it's not just the lighting. ont have a cam again til my friend comes with her phone. another y or so i will have a pic.
I thought that Coober Peddy was the "Opal Capital of the world". Is this rare bc of all the red? I've been researching these since seeing this auction and am finding them all over the internet for not so very much. Just wandering. Thanks. Great auction. Oh one more question. Is it really that red or is it your camera doing that. And can you add more pics in different lighting? Sry thanks.
This is a double sided and it is that red. it has a lot of fire in it. yes all the red makes it a rare one. i can add more pics in different lighting and back ground tomorrow when my friend comes with her camera.
That is a extra fine opal you have there. It would make a gorgeous pendant. It is large enough for the ancient art of wire wrapping also. Done correctly in 14kt the opal would be well protected and still very open to light. Of course bezel setting if you are really good at it would also be protective. Me, it would probably end up in the vault with my high end gems and diamonds. I am watching this one.
Prehnite, chrysophrase, champagne diamonds, yellow diamonds, pink diamonds, diamonds, diamonds and more diamonds, sapphire, tourmaline, emeralds, pearls gold, too many gemstones minerals etc. to list.
Oh yes I really should have listed my favorite, ruby. Of course ruby and sapphire are both corundum and oh yes another great one is garnet. Like I said, the list is long. I have very few opals. I do have a nice black opal. What is the mm size of your opal? or if you don't know try inch size or use a coin in a picture beside it.
