I sort of thought it was brass, it's not really dark enough for bronze. I seriously think it's an urn rather than spittoon, but who knows. When you found that sticker telling you it was brass, did you see anything else that might suggest who made it?

I'm sorry it's brass, there is a sticker on the bottom that says solid brass made in India. For deco purposes only, my aunt said bronze, I never bothered to look at the bottom lol

Are there some markings on the bottom that might tell you where or when it was manufactured. I didn't know spittoons had handles on them?

Ahhh that makes sense why it's so big, I remember my grandfather had one next to his rocking chair as a little kid, it was small like a coffee mug, it stunk really bad hahaha

hi f&wi am pretty sure it is a spittoon bars and taverns in the 19th century usually had several large spittoons to accommodate their patrons and cut down on having to empty so often

I've had someone said that's what was but I thought they were smaller, if it is one it's the biggest one I've seen, if I had to guess it probably holds 2 or 3 gallons

It is mine, I got out at my family reunion, my great aunt is real big on antiques and swap meets, she puts together the family reunions on her ranch and brings out all this stuff for people to buy raffle tickets, then you spin this wheel and whatever color it lands on you go pick your prize with the color ribbon on it, I got that and a bronze fire pit
