You are looking at two older war nickels first is a 1940 and second is a 1942. Nickels are in pretty good shape and can be yours if you bid. I do not grade coins I will leave that up to you.

Hate to break it to you but I'm pretty sure none of those are war nickels . Was nickels were minted from 1943-1945 when the war was actually going on . Just thought you should know

World war 2 ran from Sept 1 1939 to Sept 2 1945 the us involvement started April 10th 1941 against Germany and Dec 7th 1941 against Japan I guess I should have said Nickels produce during world war 2 while these are not the silver nickels produced between 1942 and 1945 they are still a cool piece of history. War nickels were minted 1942-1945 out of a copper-silver-manganese alloy because nickel was being used for armor plating. They are recognized by the use of very large mint marks above the dome of Monticello and the letter P being used for the first time.

The war nickels that are silver are as follows
1942P, 1942S, 1943P, 1943D,1943S, 1944P, 1944D, 1944S, 1945P, 1945D and 1945S These Nickels have 35% Silver, Sorry for the confusion
