The listing, RUBY RED INDIANA GLASS CANDLE HOLDER has ended.
Beautiful antique two piece Ruby red candle holder. I do believe they call this a L E Smith Stars and Bars Fairy Lamp. It does show some age. It does not have any chips nor cracks, but it does have some of the color that has worn off due to the age of it. It is approximately 6 3/4 inches tall and 4 3/4 inches wide. Very nice piece to have especially if you love vintage pieces from the 1960's. Any questions, please feel free to ask :)
As with all my auctions I ship free and with tracking! So please everyone help make this auction worth the free shipping :)
Please make sure you're address is verified with Listia by auctions end and as always GOOD LUCK AND HAPPY BIDDING!!!!
Questions & Comments
Could you please show me pics of where the paint is coming off? I am unable to see it in these pics?
These are always amber glass. I bet it was painted red because it went with their home furnishings but when these were fired they were fired in an amber color. Some call it carnival glass. The first of these I had seen was my mother had one and she got hers from Home Interior when the company was first coming out. I so wanted hers but I got nothing when she passed. Have a great auction!
You are very welcome. If I see something and notice that especially fired glass which is what a candle holder has to be or it would be a major mess once your candle is too short <happened to me so I learned LoL> But I am glad I was able to give you some information. My ex worked in a glass factory blowing glass and so I learned a lot and had some pretty cool things they would screw around and make when no one was looking LoL But if it is glass and the color is pealing you can always know that the piece was painted because the do them in whatever color it is to be made and sold as. You had the first red one I had ever seen so that was what intrigued me! Have a blessed day and a wonderful auction! Happy Days :) Dovey
I have seen a few of these red ones in my lifetime but mostly in antique shops and yes they are painted but yet still very old. My mother use to have one also :) But anyone that knows this piece knows the age of it and its value :) Thanks again
