Glad to see another violin on listia. I have a few and was curious about putting them up on listia, if they would be something people would want. But haven't in fear of the shipping costs. Violins can range in price from 1000-1000 or more for a student violin. And is hate to see it go for 4500 credits. Lol. Not to mention shipping. I have googled shipping a violin n talked to the postal service about shipping-they say the best way is ship by ground not air- bc it's so easily broken...and no matter how many " fragile" stickers u put on a box- they still get stacked on top of another via flight.

Most shipping I could find- ranged from $25-$200. How much will this cost you? Do u know? They are light weight-case makes it heavier. But the size is large. And depending how how it's shipped-ground /air/ etc

Thanks! Will be watching. I wish u the best! Hope this auction turns out well! 1/2 is a great size for starters--grade 3 and up to smaller size players!

This is a student violin, and not any more expensive as a lot of other things that go for what I asked for GIN. I found out there is an unusual large flat rate box (if it fits, it ships)...it's just like the mediums, but a lot longer.... that is more than long enough, but it will have to "give" a little around it.... it will be well protected by the case. and I will write fragile on it.
I am hoping for a good turn out, however...if it goes to a young student that will REALLY enjoy to learn on it, that's half the reward for me. Thank you so much for your comment.

You can get a "1/2 bow" for well under $20. Go to Amazon or surf the web.
That is what you are looking for "1/2 violin bow".
AND... it will really amaze you if you search "violin sizes". They get very small.

Why no bow?

I got it on an auction site, and it came with no bow. I was going to buy one... I was going to learn the violin. I was not aware of it's small size for a beginner, child size. This is why I am listing it....for a young child to get the chance to learn a wonderful instrument.

This ones a 1/2 so it may fit in a flat rate your right! The ones I have are 4/4--full size. However my daughter used them when she was in 3rd & 4th grade. But she was a bit taller than the other kids so 4/4 was perfect for her "arm" length.

I hope you do very well on this! Not many instruments come one listia. Especially not offering free shipping! And about the bow. The first year my daughter started playing the violin, they did not let them use bows. They had to learn the basics of the violin and the notes and sounds using their fingers!!! The second year she played they brought in the bow, and quickly she learned "silent night". Which sounds beautiful on a violin!!!
But bows aren't that expensive, and the hair is not much price wise either!
