The listing, Intel Motherboard has ended.
As far as I know this works, I purchased it brand new and went AMD instead which is why I have it. Its a 2.6 dual core processor. 4GB ram. on board video/ sound. 4 USB slots, on board NIC. Also it's a 24 +4 pin connector (power supply)
Questions & Comments
so is this new or used ? cuz it looks like there is still thermal compound on the processor
there was thermal compound on it, as I had a heat sink and fan attached. I decided to go with AMD instead, there shouldn't be anything wrong with it I never actually used it. When I moved to the u.s I took the heat sink and fan off so it Would fit into this bag I have for it. Thats about all I can say for it though.
ouch! that's a price drop most sites have listed a lot higher that's just what pops up first on Google shop.
this is perfect setup for someone with a pentium 4 socket478 to upgrade with. gets you a 775 board, ddr2 ram slots,1066fsb, sata drive plugs, and pcix video slot. current stuff but you can buy the new upgrades later. a dual core and 2 gigs ram will also be a jump up from the p4 setup too.
its rare to see a dual core on listia, let alone a nice 775 board.
Well I just figured rather than let it sit here and go to waste let someone use it. I have a laptop atm as I am living with my husbands parents and room is tight. Else I would have build a comp with it. But it should be a good board looks to have decent specs I mean its not ideal for the hard core gamer but can withstand some.
D 805 thats what we're looking for. Pentium D's run real hot, this will need a good fan/heatsink. the stock intels ones are not enough long term. my son pc is a D 930 3.o ghz and i have to slow it down to 2.4 to stop reboots now. you can see the burn under the chip so looking for something to replace it with. sorry but for him this is not it.
the board is ok and will make a good system but the built in video is junk compared to what you can plug into that nice video slot for a few bucks, the ram is ok for win xp and office programs, but the chip will leave you wanting more if you play games.
the ram and chip are only running at 533 mhz f.s.b. max. that will slow things down a bit. the board does have 2 sata plugs for the latest big hard drives and pcix-16 video slot. so it will make a good system if upgraded.
if you just want to surf the web and run office this setup will work fine. any more and i would upgrade the video to a card first, then get a faster cpu and ram setup. something running at 800 FSB. they are all over the place and cheap now.
good starting point for someone to upgrade an old PC with, then add faster parts as you can afford them. just wish it was faster than the one i am trying to upgrade.
That may be what it retails for today but I purchased it for 144.97. And from experience all on board video cards have been proven to not be great, but will work and some even work well. Once again I purchased this motherboard never used it or even hooked it up, I switched over to AMD as that's what my husband prefers. Really don't know much about this specific board other than I got it from tiger direct. And I can prove that I paid 144.00 for it. But your right it is a good upgrade board, and I really don't know about running hot I have never used any of the D series. That can also be fixed with an extra fan on the case I would think :). Thanks for your input hun. o.o and that ram should be fine even for gaming I used the same in my other computer and I play MMORPG games on it just fine.
look on intel chip under heat paste for one of these numbers. these are 2.6 ghz intel. celeron E3400 BX80571E3400 800 fbs 1meg cache e5300 BX80571E5300 800 fbs e6700 BX80557E6700 1066 fsb (not likely)
Wanted to state that I mis typed there is 2gb of RAM I apologize. If anyone bid because it was 4gb of ram and they win I can refund the credits as that was my mistake.
P4M890-M7 TE (socket 775). Ram is DDR2, pc2-4200 240p/13832. Not sure if that is the model num or not. Never needed to find the model before lol. But that is the correct CPU model.
Do you have the paperwork that came with this? Also do you have the plate you use on the back to set the connections that covers the empty spaces when the board is installed it should have come with it if you got this brand new. And one other thing I noticed there is no heat sink or fan on the processor it did not have one? This is not an issue I have those just wondering.
conceiled cash is when i mail money (hidden in envelope, like wrapped in paper or card) to you for the shipping,as most of us don't have paypal. A money order is also possible if you want.
o.o and it had a heat sink and fan but when I moved here I threw it out, didn't think I was ever gonna use this motherboard. So I don't have one anymore sry.
