The listing, New CD/DVD RW drive for Dell Notebook has ended.

This is a model DS-8A8SH for Dell 5000 series laptops. Had to order the whole drive just to get the snap-on drive door cover for a rebuild I was doing. Guaranteed working - it's new from Dell. Please note, this does not come with the plastic drive door cover, they are easily detachable and snapped back on.

is it a lite-on version?

It's manufactured by Phillips/Lite-On. Which of course is made in China. Manufacture date is May 2012, if you need the vintage. Beyond that, I'm clueless. ;-)
