The listing, 1972 George McGOVERN president Sargeant SHRIVER political campaign election Tab pin has ended.
This Votes Unlimited political campaign tab promoted George McGovern for president and Sargeant Shriver for vice president in1972.
In 1972 George McGovern the Democratic candidate for President initially selected Missouri Senator Thomas Eagleton to be the Vice Presidential candidate. (Previously I offered a similar tab for that campaign in an earlier auction.) Issues emerged after the Democrat Convention that Eagleton had received counseling. The reaction turned from 1000 percent support to the withdrawal of Eagleton as the candidate on the team. Sargeant Shriver of the John F. Kennedy family (an in-law) became the next choice for vice president.
Shriver became the successor candidate. The team lost to Richard Nixon and Spiro Agnew the Republican candidates.
This fold over pocket or lapel tab was made by the official Democratic party producer maker of campaign buttons, pins, badges and medals, Votes Unlimited,, Fernadale, New York to promote George McGovern for president, 1972.
Votes Unlimited, Ferndale, New York is printed on the top of the tab.
