I Think sharper image electronics are made in china. I have read mixed reviews of this device and I have seen this item sell on ebay from 59.00 to 80.00, I think if the bids don't go over 4000 to 5000 it would be a pretty good value. Anything over that and it would be worth it to just buy a new one from ebay. just my opinion.
